written by Jennifer Haley

March 6-21

Much like an episode of the hit series “Black Mirror” (and one of the most talked-about new plays in recent years), popular female playwright Jennifer Haley blurs reality into a virtual realm known as The Nether. This new form of the internet allows anyone to access a vast network of virtual reality realms. Users may log in, choose an identity, and indulge any desire. Detective Morris interrogates members of a realm known as The Hideaway, digging into the emotional consequences of its players entertaining the darkest of wants. The Nether is both twisting crime drama and haunting sci-fi thriller. The play is for mature audiences only as it deals with pedophilia, sexual violence, suicide, and other very adult themes.

Directed by Jaimelyn Gray
